Packaging Set Type A

Safe transport and storage of radiopharmaceuticals without taking the vial out of its tungsten shield.

The packaging set belongs to a product line protecting healthcare staff from the effects of ionising radiation.

Its inner part is the portable tungsten container PT318, which also fits the Automatic Dispensing Units PT317R7 and PT459R5. The vial therefore stays in its 24 mm W shield both during transport and during dose preparation.

The packaging set can also be used for safe storage of radioactive solutions.

Design

Outer part

A case with a fully opening lid. The light metal frame has walls of tough plywood with a thin ABS surface; the space between the walls and the embedded shielding is filled with elastic material. The case has a strap and a lock that can be sealed. It carries the prescribed labelling and leaves enough space for further labels or symbols.

Spacer

Part of the outer part, consisting of a cylindrical body and a lid with a bayonet joint. A screw in the lid secures the position of the PT318 container.

Inner part

The portable tungsten container PT318, which becomes waterproof when its inner lock is tightened.
